Stars. Lovers. Liars. Killers. This is Hollywood, and everyone has a part to play in a shocking novel of suspense by New York Times bestselling author A. R. Torre. Actress Nora Kemp loves two men. One is Hugh Iverson, a philanthropic movie star who gives Nora security and respectability. The other is Hugh's twin brother, Trent, a Hollywood bad boy who brings out Nora's wild side. When Trent and an unidentified woman are found dead on the Iversons' Beverly Hills property, more than Nora's and Hugh's reputations are at stake. An investigation suggests murder-suicide. But there's more to the crime than first meets the eye: suspicions of a serial killer with a bizarre motive, Hugh's unnerved and cautious staff, and a missing mother and son. As two LA detectives sift through the deceptions of the innocent and the guilty--some living and some dead--solving the case becomes a cunning cat-and-mouse game. Because in a city of illusions, the truth--no matter how dangerous--is so easy to hide.

This was really good. I read it in one sitting. Short chapters, multiple POV‘s and these twists I did not see coming. The plot includes Hollywood‘s finest movie stars, twins, secrets and two bodies. Fast paced and thrilling with mostly unlikable characters., although I did like detectives Farah and Kevin. They were a good duo.

A fun mystery, but *trigger warning* a young child is kidnapped. This is a multi-POV thriller and fortunately one POV is the child, so just know he will be okay. There were so many POVs that switched often and a very convoluted plot. Definitely an interesting but altogether easy read if you keep an open mind and blindly follow crazytown. Book #63 in 2023

𝟒⭐There are lots of POVs to keep straight but luckily each one is labeled at the beginning of each new chapter, which was a good thing since I had to go back and listen to some chapters to help the story make sense to me. Many have said that this is predictable, especially the twist…and it may well be. But ultimately, it has a lot of aspects that I haven‘t seen in any other thrillers before and they are what made this stand out for me.
