A contemporary fantasy YA debut from Rochelle Hassan about monsters, magic, and wicked fae, perfect for fans of The Darkest Part of the Forest and The Hazel Wood. As the only hedgewitch in Blackthorn, Massachusettsan uncommonly magical placeAziza El-Amin has bargained with wood nymphs, rescued palm-sized fairies from house cats, banished flesh-eating shadows from the local park. But when a dark entity awakens in the forest outside of town, eroding the invisible boundary between the human world and fairyland, run-of-the-mill fae mischief turns into outright aggression, and the dangerto herself and othersbecomes too great for her to handle alone. Leo Merritt is no stranger to magical catastrophes. On his sixteenth birthday, a dormant curse kicked in and ripped away all his memories of his true love. A miserable year has passed since then. He's road-tripped up and down the East Coast looking for a way to get his memories back and hit one dead end after another. He doesn't even know his true love's name, but he feels the absence in his life, and it's haunting. Desperate for answers, he makes a pact with Aziza: hell provide much-needed backup on her nightly patrols, and in exchange, shell help him break the curse. When the creature in the woods sets its sights on them, their survival depends on the aid of a mysterious young necromancer theyre not certain they can trust. But theyll have to work together to eradicate the new threat and take back their hometown... even if it forces them to uncover deeply buried secrets and make devastating sacrifices.

Setting up my June #bookspin early as it worked surprisingly well in May to get me to read Hotel Magnifique. Or if anyone sees anything I should try to tackle earlier? @TheAromaofBooks

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!!! Silver in the Bone is on my summer reading list. I see some OwlCrate editions - did you get May's book???? I'm not over how freaking gorgeous it is! I hope I like the actual story! 😂 11mo
Booksblanketsandahotbeverage @TheAromaofBooks lol! I did - it just came today. I‘m thinking of reading it from the library so I don‘t have to open it 🥰 I‘ve heard good things about it, so hopefully… 🤞 11mo
TheAromaofBooks I follow an IG account that gives the spoilers for what each month's book is going to be ahead of time so I skip months where I don't think I'm going to like the book - so hopefully this one will be a win!! I just love those page edges!! 11mo

I finally started my reading journal and oops, i think I'm focusing too much on the covers 😂😂 GOD, some of these have so many details

Kenyazero Looks lovely! Haha I loved drawing the covers in my last book journal, but I read way too many graphic novels, which always have more complex covers 😂 1y
coffees @Kenyazero thanks and omg yesss xD I'm like keep it simple and then 3hrs have passed 😂😂 I've decided to leave those last as an activity for downtimes 1y

The latest OwlCrate book! Aziza is a hedgewitch - her job is to keep the boundary between the fae realm and the human one. Things get difficult when a hag gains power and threatens the entire town of Blackthorn. We also see the POV of Leo, cursed to forget his true love, and Tristan, who sold himself in service to the hag. I wanted to read maybe another fifty pages just to solve all the problems, but I have to wait for the sequel.
