In this riotous young adult romp for fans of Recommended for You and A Cuban Girl's Guide to Tea and Tomorrow, a teen girl has the worst Valentine's Day ever--only to relive it over and over again. After living through a dumpster fire of a Valentine's Day, Emilie Hornby escapes to her grandmother's house for some comfort and a consolation pint of Ben & Jerry's. She passes out on the couch, but when she wakes up, she's back home in her own bed--and it's Valentine's Day all over again. And the next day? Another nightmare V-Day. Emilie is stuck in some sort of time loop nightmare that she can't wake up from as she re-watches her boyfriend, Josh, cheat on her day after day. In addition to Josh's recurring infidelity, Emilie can't get away from the enigmatic Nick, who she keeps running into--sometimes literally--in unfortunate ways. How many days can one girl passively watch her life go up in flames? And when something good starts to come out of these terrible days, what happens when the universe stops doling out do-overs?

A delightful YA romance about a girl who keeps reliving Valentine's Day over until she finally gets it right ...except her plans get waylaid by a different boy. Adorable.

This was a fun YA romance. Clever and fresh with a Groundhog day repeating time slip. The characters are adorable and the right amount of angsty-a feel good bit of fun! #BookspinBingi @TheAromaofBooks

Book #62
4.5/5
This is my 3rd Lynn Painter read, and it did not disappoint. If you like YA fiction, romance, Gilmore Girls, Taylor Swift lyrics, and Groundhog Day, you will appreciate this book.

“Also—thanks to Taylor Swift, for writing songs that feel like books.”

This was a fun little YA romance, with a “Groundhog Day” premise but with Valentine‘s Day… and, yes, @Clwojick , I ABSOLUTELY fit this in this month‘s reading for the #redtruck in #ispybingo! 😂😂

Emilie has planned for the perfect Valentines Day. But when her day of love is ruined by heartbreak. V-day turns into a disaster she wants to forget. When she wakes up the next morning, it's still February 14th. Emilie relives the day over and over trying to break the loop. If you like books that are cheesy and rom-commy, you'll like this book. A theme is don't be a people pleaser; like on the repeats she still spares feelings/ wants to be liked.

MissYaremcio Nicely done Ava! Rom coms are such a good read! 6/6 14mo

I tell myself that if I ever get stuck in a time loop, I‘d be too scared to act out in case the loop ends the next day. WELL, now we know what that looks like. And it‘s actually *not* terrible??

😍 so much fun! Hilariously written characters & absolutely believable feelings. I love time loops & really appreciated that this one actually explained what caused it in a non-complicated way. The writing was beautifully visual, even with the Taylor Swift lyrics inserted throughout.
