Mehso-so

I have mixed feelings about this book. I read it in three days & mostly enjoyed it. The main character JP was endearing, although he could have been better developed. The puppy side story was cute, but it took away from the murder plot. The story was unfocused. The surprise twist ending was clever but underwhelming. I think the series has potential. I will read the next book.

This was kinda cute but it was also kind of a mess. The 2 MCs- & the 2dary charactors- had a lot of potential but weren't quite developed enough to connect with them. The mystery takes quite a while to develop & once it does the "culprit" is obvious from miles away. There was also a lot repetition- esp in charactor description- & very little about their renovation show, which is what drew me to this in the first place. I think I'll pass on book 2.
