After a near brawl at a faculty meeting, Athena has to uncover the identity of a hot author creating erotica inspired by the classics in order to save her job. The author is from Athena‘s hometown and she takes a waitressing job at the local cafe to help her track down the mysterious writer. Working under a deadline and dealing with her ex has made Athena‘s task almost impossible. The Brontës are better, but this 3⭐️ read is fun too.

All these were #gifted books that I received in the mail this weekend.

This is fun but it's really predictable. I also felt like the author was maybe a bit out of touch with current clothing brands. Are Liz Claiborne jeans still a thing? It made me feel a little judgemental.

I was very excited to read this book because I love the premise. Unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations.

My main critique is that the book is too long. The book is roughly 370 pages, but could have been whittled down to around 300. The book is very light on events that drive the plot forward.

This is a good beach read or if you want a light read. We all need these types of books in our lives and this one does the job perfectly.

Athena takes a sabbatical to write a book. Her plan is to reveal the identity of the author, who happens to be from her hometown, of a series that turn classic novels into erotica (eg Sins and Sin‘s Ability). While Athena works on her book she takes a job waitressing at a cafe owned by her ex. I really wanted to like this one, but the writing felt awkward and juvenile.
