Pickpick

I turned 13 the year the Tigers won the World Series. It was a magical summer. I started reading a ton of fiction about baseball, too. It's still my favorite sport to read about. Sparky Anderson's diary of the 1984 season will always be my favorite among them. It is always fun to go back and read about certain times during that season from his perspective. I loved those boys, too. Still do. Bless you, Sparky! ⚾️😇 #funfridayphoto

ScrappyMags My dad grew up in Detroit in the 40s and early 50s and he used to sell papers outsidel Tiger Stadium and the ushers would let the paperboys in sometime around the 3rd inning then after they would wait for autographs. They knew all the good hiding spots to come out when the players did. I love hearing him talk about those days of baseball. I'm a D fan thru and thru! 8y
LitHousewife @ScrappyMags My grandpa told similar stories about how if you agreed to clean the bleachers (or something like that), they'd let you in around that time. He and my dad made me a huge fan, too. I grew up in GR, though. Not as many games for me. 🤗 8y
