FULL REVIEW 4/21

It is WWII - men are enlisting, the women are left alone, and Kew Gardens is again looking for women to help.

A lovely, lovely read despite heartbreaking war situations.

Pickpick

Not all flowers & fluff. Had me cursing the Patriarchy at times. Wonder if there are any statistics on how many women who were nurses in WW2 and went on to become Dr's?

Tackled serious issues as well like Depression & attempted Suicide. Interracial Dating & Prejudice.

As a gardener, I found Historical parts - Kew, Anderson Shelters, Dig for Victory, & growing of medical plants fascinating. Loved that it show how gardening can be therapeutic.

"It‘s no life for a woman.'

My response whenever men in Historical Fiction say this. ?????
