Pickpick

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was really good, but so dense with research that it was sometimes hard for me to fully follow her arguments. Lots of interesting (and horrifying) information. Definitely worth reading, but it requires a lot of the reader to keep up.

Pickpick

This book is incredibly fascinating but way too broad. I kept wanting her to dig deeper into fewer areas.

Covering colonialism from places as disparate Laos, Honduras, and Ireland as well as indigenous peoples in the Americas, Dunbar-Ortiz tries to paint an overarching picture of the history of American settler colonialism and its current situation. I felt overwhelmed by the sheer amount crammed into in this 12-hour #audiobook, but still a pick.

Megabooks I‘m sure this is going to come across your radar @Riveted_Reader_Melissa and perhaps yours @BarbaraTheBibliophage and I‘m really curious to read your thoughts if you do pick it up at some point. 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa I read Loaded by her, also a lot, but also I learned a lot and it was a pick for me too. 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa I‘ve been meaning to pick up her other book for awhile now, An Indigenous People‘s‘ History…I‘ll have to add this one to my list too. 3y

Megabooks @Riveted_Reader_Melissa apparently I stacked loaded awhile back and forgot about it. It does still sound like one I should read. I have not read IPHotUS either but it is on my list as well. 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Megabooks Loaded was packed full of info too & so much more than I expected at the time. I knew about the right to bear arms being tied to slavery, but so much was also tied to earlier settlers needing to subdue natives, to steal land. It was very good & chock full of information, so I know what you mean about being crammed full. Maybe after I finish 400 Souls I could tackle IPHotUS as a longer read too, so I could digest it in smaller bits. 3y
Cinfhen There is NO WAY I could manage this book right now!! My brain space is at FULL CAPACITY 😛😘 3y
Megabooks @Cinfhen you have A LOT going on right now!! 💜😘 3y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Thanks for the tag! Yes, I will put this on my TBR. Sounds like a good pick. 3y
