🥳🥳🥳🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼❤️❤️❤️❤️ could not BE more excited! 😆
The second #12Booksof2021 from this great series. This time for #October. Worried how he‘d follow the events of the previous book, but he wrote it brilliantly. What an ending to the book 😱😳. Now waiting impatiently for the publication of the next book in the series (May). #10thBookof2021
Says something that this book beat Stolen Ones by Angela Marsons, Secret Prey by John Sandford, and Dead Mercy by Noelle Holten which are all great books.
This is book 8 in the Matilda Darke series, but the first one I have read. This story picks up after a terrorist incident involving a sniper on a rooftop killed members of the major crime squad. An incident that left Matilda with a bullet to the brain. Leading her team, they now encounter a vile serial killer targeting prostitutes. The excitement ensues from there, with Matilda juggling a busy schedule. A thrill ride that ends in a cliffhanger.
Possibly my most favourite read in quite a while, in fact most probably since I read the previous one. The angst just poured off the page following what happened in the previous book. Just could not put it down or read it quick enough towards the end. Great plotting, great writing and great characterisation, and the reveal left me reeling again. Bravo Michael Wood! Series strongly recommended.
4th book finished for #20in4, 11th in #ReadWithUs
Starting the new book in the excellent DCI Matilda Darke Series. A great title after the calamitous events of the last book that left me reeling. Be good to see how Michael brings the series back from the dark events of the previous book.
Reading this as part of the #20in4 and #ReadWithUs Readathons.
I‘m not supposed to have a lot of time to read for the rest of the year, but there are so many excellent books being published, including this one… if you‘re not familiar with Mathilda Darke you should get to know her now! One of the best series out there. Yes, Michael Wood is THAT good! 😍😍
