I don‘t intentionally #DNF books. I never set aside books I‘ve started without thinking, “I‘ll come back and finish this book eventually.” Often, I‘ll start a book and realize I‘m not in the mood for it, so I‘ll stop reading—like I did with these two books. It‘s here! It‘s here! My first #bookhaul from Book Outlet arrived today. Sadly, there was no sneaking the box in...it arrived while me and my BF were both home. Luckily his only response was “wow, that‘s a lot of books.” I chose not to mention the second box that is en route. 🤭

panThis book was meta, but not in a fun way. It was trying very hard. I felt the characters were inconsistent. There were some cool ideas but those were never followed through on, like the best friend who wanted to be more then a side character.
pickA fun, quick read about a teenage girl who discovers her life is not her own, but an author's creation. What happens when a character rebels against the limits of genre and author? That's the metafictional conceit of this YA novel. A good palate cleanser. 3.5 ⭐️
