I've had an idea! Because we're doing Don Quixote (DQ) at the beginning of next year, it might be good to read this alongside/just after it? It's 464 pages - 559 pages shorter than DQ, so it could start in the second month of the DQ buddy read. It would be a good comparison piece to both DQ and Jane Austen - and I don't mind hosting it if you think it's a good idea!

BarkingMadRead I thinks that‘s too much for me, I have a lot of other buddy reads going on 7mo
jenniferw88 @BarkingMadRead fair enough, it was just an idea! 7mo
BarkingMadRead You could totally host it on your own if you wanted to, I just can‘t participate! (edited) 7mo

Day 2: Favorite Female Author

I know it‘s cliche but my favorite female author is Jane Austen. I want to grow up to be Elizabeth Bennet some day!

One of Jane Austen‘s influences was The Female Quixote by Charlotte Lennox (BBC).

My Fav Jane Austen novel is Pride and Prejudice.

WhiskeyMistress Omg not cliche I may or may not use her today too 🙈 it‘s ok to love Austen, there‘s a reason her books are so popular... because they‘re super good! 6y
MicrobeMom @whiskymistress her books are the one a read over and over again. J.k Rowling was a close second!!! 6y
CrowCAH P&P is my fave too! If you haven‘t already check out my collection #PnPCovers and follow @JANEissarilyAUSTENtatious ! 6y
Erinsuereads I love P&P but Northanger abbey has always had my heart! 6y

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ words cannot describe how much I loved this book. TBH, it was one of the only novels I finished on time last semester.

The Female Quixote was entertaining, hilarious and very unique. Although it was repetitive throughout the book, it appears necessary to emphasize Arabella's ridiculous ideas and behaviour. The ending needed to be executed better in order to give the reader a satisfying conclusion. Overall, it was an interesting and fun book to read!

"Rascals! ... what do you mean by using me in this manner?"

Arabella is constantly making assumptions and getting her lovers into trouble. She is quite ridiculous but it is very entertaining. Never a dull moment in this book!
