The Tower of Nero (The Trials of Apollo Book 5)
The Tower of Nero (The Trials of Apollo Book 5) | Rick Riordan
21 posts | 36 read | 13 to read
It's time to face the final trial . . . The battle for Camp Jupiter is over. New Rome is safe. Tarquin and his army of the undead have been defeated. Somehow Apollo has made it out alive, with a little bit of help from the Hunters of Artemis. But though the battle may have been won, the war is far from over. Now Apollo and Meg must get ready for the final - and, let's face it, probably fatal - adventure. They must face the last emperor, the terrifying Nero, and destroy him once and for all. Can Apollo find his godly form again? Will Meg be able to face up to her troubled past? Destiny awaits . . .

A really good conclusion to another really good series. I need to read Riordan‘s other series (Kane and Magnus Chase), as I‘m no caught up on the Greek series. I hope he continues with another, because I need to know what Nico does next. #doublespin #seriesread2022

This was a great ending to the series and I absolutely loved it. It was full of action as well as emotional reunions, etc. As I‘ve said a thousand times, I love these characters and I‘ll miss them. I highly recommend this book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

WELL I DIDN‘T PLAN ON CRYING AT THE END OF THIS BOOK, BUT HERE I AM. Those last sentences, man. Right in the heartstrings, Rick Riordan. 😭🥺💖 #thetrialsofapollo #thetowerofnero #rickriordan

I don‘t really have words right now. I loved the book and I think it‘s a very fitting end to this series. But I‘m so sad that it‘s come to a close. I‘ve travelled with Uncle Rick‘s books for about a decade now (that‘s so wild) and I have to say I‘ve loved every second of it. The journey might be over (for now) but it will always live in my heart and I‘m sure I‘ll revisit these books plenty of times in the future!🧡💜

Waiting for my first lecture of the year to start! I‘m trying to finally finish the tagged book. It‘s taken me a good while longer than I thought it would but I just don‘t want it to end😭 #currentlyreading

I finished my first reading challenge of the year! I finally started and finished the Trials of Apollo series by reading all 5 books in January.
The Hidden Oracle - 5 ⭐️
The Dark Prophecy - 4 ⭐️
The Burning Maze - 5 ⭐️
The Tyrant‘s Tomb - 5 ⭐️
The Tower of Nero - 5 ⭐️

I got a little teary-eyed reading the final lines of this series. It was a really bittersweet ending to the Percy Jackson universe.

Blh87 I LOVED The Olympians and Heroes of Olympus series‘, but then didn‘t read past that. I‘ve had the first Magnus Chase book on my shelf forever, but haven‘t gotten around to that one either... 3y
magicalshelves @Blh87 The Magnus Chase books are my least favorite of his books. If you Loves the first two series of PJO you will really enjoy Apollo. It think it‘s my favorite of the three series. 3y

I picked the book because I like all thing to do with the greek gods and the snack in the image is one of my favorite animals. I also want to read the book because I read most of the other books and I was interested in the others.

Challenge 26 of 50: A book with a made up language

I'm going to count the language of the underground creatures who speak in English with elongated screeches, because why not. Loved this series. Loved seeing an end to this saga (maybe? I'm not sure I also got the impression he was hinting at a huge cross over adventure). Loved Apollo. Just thrilled to get to read this book this year

I‘ve been reading these books since I was 16 and it‘s very sad that this whole saga has come to an end. But what a great ending it was!

I‘m actively crying over the end of a legacy. This is the end of the Percy Jackson world I‘ve literally grown up in. Apollo has grown so much in proving what it‘s like to be human. What it takes to have humility. I wouldn‘t have this end any other way. Though I wonder about Chirons mystery side meeting. That ending, seeing where everyone is today, had me going. Such a bitter sweet loving ending.

You cannot change a tyrant by trying to out-ugly him. Meg could never have changed Nero, any more than I could change Zeus. I could only try to be different than him. Better. More... human.

Gnora Text on Image: Mountain Dew is the equivalent of the enslaved servant who would ride behind the emperor during his triumphal parades, whispering, Remember, you are mortal, and you will die to keep him from getting a big head. 3y

What a way to end the series. Although, I do kind of hope for the hinted next series.

Remember what it‘s like to be human
He hasn‘t meant all the terrible things about being human, of which there were plenty. He‘s meant the best things: sanding up for a cause, putting others first, having stubborn faith that you could make a difference, even if it meant you had to die to protect your friends and what you believe in. These were not the kind of feelings that gods had... well, ever. #RiordanPresents

Oh My Gosh it‘s here!!! I‘m so excited to read this book! I‘m so sad to read this book! I‘ve grown up with these stories. The first came out while a high school freshmen, now the final comes out during my final year of college. Let alone the amazing Cabin Thirteen cap for the importance Nico will have. Hoping for more Reyna, always my go-to ace girl. Thank you, Uncle Rick, for everything. #RiordanPresents

jinxmoon I need that cap! Where‘s that from? 😍 3y
Bookish_Gal @jinxmoon Virtual book tour going on now!! Comes right along with it!! Go see if there‘s any more tickets!! There‘s a few still going. Just don‘t buy the Barnes and Noble tickets - no caps for then 3y
jinxmoon Thanks for the info ... unfortunately the shipping is 60$ to Germany... Love the cap, but not that much 😔 3y

Bookish_Gal @jinxmoon ouch. That‘s a lot. Even with that included signed book. Out of the country shipping is high 3y
jinxmoon very... I pre-ordered the box set for nearly the same price. (I already had the other books but my brother loves free Riordan books) But I have to wait till the end of the month. I‘m even more excited now as I didn‘t realize before that Nico will have a big enough role to inspire a cap. But I‘m also a little afraid to read it. I don‘t want it to be over... 3y
Bookish_Gal @jinxmoon same!!! These books mean so much to me I don‘t know where to begin. That‘s awesome you get the box set 3y

This will be it; the end of the god Apollo‘s journey as the human Lester Papadopoulos. Him and Meg have survived Caligula and Commodus, but now they must face the worst of the worst in New York City; Nero. — I am so excited for the Zoom webinar book meeting!! This is quite a chance to “meet” Uncle Rick himself (in a sense) cannot wait to see what Meg can really do when not under Nero‘s finger #RiordanPresents
