The Twelve Dogs of Christmas
The Twelve Dogs of Christmas | Lizzie Shane
11 posts | 8 read | 7 to read
A delightful holiday romance about a small-town single dad and an animal rescue owner as they try to find forever homes for a dozen lovable pups before Christmas. Pine Hollow has everything Ally Gilmore could wish for in a holiday break: gently falling snow in a charming small town and time with her family. Then she learns some Grinch has pulled the funding for her family's rescue shelter, and now she has only four weeks to find new homes for a dozen dogs! But when she confronts her Scroogey councilman nemesis, Ally finds he's far more reasonable -- and handsome -- than she ever expected. As the guardian of his dog-obsessed ten-year-old niece, Ben West doesn't have time to build a cuddly reputation. But he does feel guilty about the shelter closing. So he proposes a truce with Ally, agreeing to help her adopt out the pups. As the two spend more time together, the town's gossip is spreading faster than Santa's sleigh on Christmas Eve. And soon Ben is hoping he can convince Ally that Pine Hollow is her home for the holidays. . . and the whole year through.

The book was really sweet, I actually got really invested in these characters. I'm glad this is a series that will tell some of the secondary character's stories. It felt Christmassy and hit all the right notes for me.

If you like your Christmas romances to be a little impractical and to involve a lot of dogs, definitely read this one! Despite the overall silliness, I did like the MC and her love interest, although the ending was slightly drawn out to me - has he learned his lesson or not?? I don't like it when characters make big progress and then turn around the next day and do the exact opposite of what they claim to have learned. This is the first in a ⬇️

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) series but since the others aren't Christmasy, I may (or may not lol) pick them up in January. Fun and fluffy classic New England small town Christmas romance with a grumpy single dad/uncle. 1y

I cannot adequately express how delightful this book is!! It features dogs but there isn‘t any sadness at all. A small town dog shelter is trying desperately to find homes for all of its residents. The characters are just as fun as the dogs and this is going on my holiday rereads list.

I‘ve been looking for a good dog book that isn‘t necessarily a tearjerker. I know it isn‘t Christmas anymore but my goodness, this story is full of dogs and so cute!! Exactly what I‘ve been craving. I‘m almost halfway thru and it will probably go on my holiday list for seasonal rereading 🐶 🐶 🐶

I love a good Christmas themed book, that has a HEA. I did wonder at one point if there was actually going to be a HEA. I‘m so glad that it did and that all of the dogs also found their fur-ever homes. There were some really funny parts to this book that had me laughing out loud. It was also quite touching at times too. If you want a feel good Christmas read then read this.

Just finished this up #dashingdecember #readathon. It‘s a really cute holiday romance where the dogs are the center of it all. A typical light romance. I loved how the author honored the dogs with each one having its own personality as they do. I found myself wondering which of them would be a good fit in my home. Couldn‘t help picking a cat frame for dog centered cover. @Andrew65

Not getting very far on my #dashingdecember #readathon goals. Two read and totally switching genre, although this is kinda cute so I‘ll keep this one.

If you miss Gilmore Girls and like chaste happily ever afters with dogs, this is the book for you! It helps that it takes place in Pine Hollow and the main character is Ally Gilmore. A pick for what it is but you know, not the best book of all time.

I loved this book so much. I enjoyed the humor and the story made think of Hallmark movies. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The book releases 9/29/20. Thank you to Forever Publishing for the free copy. #bookblogger #bookreviewer #bookworm #booknerd #thetwelvedogsofchristmas
