Would you destroy another world to save your own? As the site of a former military base, there have always been rumors that East Township High School was the site of experiments with space and time. For years, students have whispered in the hallways of a doorway created within the school, one that can access multiple timelines and realities, a place known as the Down World. As the new kid in school and still reeling from the unexplained death of her brother Robbie, Marina O'Connell is only interested in one thing: leaving the past behind. But a chance encounter with handsome Brady Picelli changes everything. He will lead Marina to a startling discovery. The Down World is real and the past, present, and future are falling out of balance. Brady is determined to help Marina discover what really happened to her brother. However, what is taken from one world, must be repaid by another. And Marina is about to discover that even a realm of infinite possibilities has rules that must be obeyed.

Mehso-so

I found this book to be similar to the much loved Stranger Things and Coraline, with the unique Sci-Fi atmosphere in a modern day urban setting, with rich world building and a well constructed plot. I enjoyed the idea of various other versions of the world (hence why I thought of Coraline) and I enjoyed the characters. The pacing was fairly fast, however the ending let me down a bit as it seemed like the whole book contradicted itself.

Pickpick

While the writing & story are not particularly sophisticated, this is a very fast & fun read. The story is mostly well told, & I absolutely needed to know what was happening, what was next, & how it would resolve. Although I did *NOT* like the ending (& yes, there was a way to do it differently!!), this doesn‘t seem to be a sticking point for most people. Overall, definitely recommend for a quick, fun, YA romp through portals & parallels. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Avanders @Chrissyreadit if you‘re interested, I‘d be happy to send you the book and all the fun opens that came with it— I did open them, of course 😜 But I‘m not going to keep them and it *is* fun opening them while reading the book… let me know! 😘 3y
Chrissyreadit Ok- so I‘m interested UNLESS it has a sad ending! I need resolution, happiness and satisfaction- also you are so kind and sweet to offer! 3y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I mailed you a letter and it got returned 😓 I think I have the wrong address… do you still have my email address? 3y

Avanders @Chrissyreadit I‘ve struggled to answer this Bc most people don‘t seem to have the same issues with the end that I did. You get resolution for sure … but *I* wasn‘t happy or satisfied with the ending. …. Do you want to try? Or do you want to give this one a pass? 3y
Chrissyreadit I can pass since my TBR is crazy high anyway. I‘m listening to Nyxia when it‘s my turn to drive on the travel portion of my trip. I thought of you- and just had my heart ripped to shreds in the part I just finished. 3y
Avanders @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I do - I‘ll email you :) 3y
Avanders @Chrissyreadit that makes sense to me 😉 Ooh Nyxia!! I hope you love it, heart-shredding notwithstanding! 3y

Avanders @Gissy so fun!! I haven‘t subscribed yet — I just did a 1-month try to see how it was. So far I‘m digging it! ❤️😘 3y
Gissy @Avanders During this year they have included great books, all of them were in my wish list: TheYellow Wife, The Apothecary, Shiver, Meet Me In Paradise. It was not the same last year. Some items are so practical, others not. I always donate those that I‘m not going to use. I‘m in the adult subscription. It is always cheaper to buy only the book but I think is fun to open gifts related with the book you are reading🤗 3y
Avanders @Gissy oooh fun! I love it when the subscriptions pick good books 🥰 i also donate (and sometimes gift, if it seems someone would really like something ☺️) items I‘m not going to use 😄 The book I‘m reading is a YA, as I‘m sure you know.. it has some holes and isn‘t necessarily top-notch writing, but it‘s a fun story, intriguing, and a quick read! I definitely want to know how it all plays out! I‘m super curious about their June book too… 🤔😘♥️ 3y
