Finally finished a book for #24B4Monday. (The stopwatch isn‘t quite accurate—I read a little at work on Friday, so I have a bit more than 6 hours.)

I was very interested in the crimes and trials described in this book, but I think it could have been much better written and organized. Maybe John Douglas is running out of material—some of his older books are much better.

Not a pair of names I expected to see in this book, let alone together 😳

This book, about possible miscarriages of justice, is fascinating, but I‘d forgotten how John Douglas‘ books tend to focus on him to the detriment of the true crime. Also how poorly edited they are. First the story of an arson investigation was so poorly told that I couldn‘t figure out until the end of the trial whether the suspect‘s wife had survived, and then there‘s this. Valentine‘s Day is not the 17th!

I tried i really did. I made it to page 64 and had to stop. I was liking the cases but the author kept saying if i had this case this is the way it shouldve happened. It was getting annoying to the point i had to stop for my own sanity.

As a fan of Criminal Minds, I am here for anything that has the word “profiler” in the title. That being said, this book is not Criminal Minds but still so so fascinating. Douglas offers his insight into many high profile cases and I really did enjoy listening to him talk. He is proud of his accomplishments and has strong opinions, all of which he shares in a slightly snarky voice. #25infive

I have way too many auto-buy authors (which seems to be both good and bad).
