pickExcellent and complex fantasy. The country of Crache is, on one side of the coin, a successful and productive society. Flip the coin and there is rot, corruption and cruelty. Savage Legion is skillfully crafted, well-written and has great world-building. The characters are complex and grow throughout the story. I really enjoyed and appreciated this book. Savage Lesion is a must read for the issues it raises and for sheer entertainment value.
pickSavage Legion is an action-packed page-turner. The action is seen through the eyes of multiple characters, giving detailed glimpses into their lives and their motivations. I adore the characters; their strength, their courage, and the sacrifices they make for what is right and good. I also absolutely love the fact that this is a novel full of strong female characters. I highly recommend Savage Legion!
pickSometimes a story, as imperfect as it might be, grabs your attention & gives you reason enough to continue reading it. This book does that, in spite of some clunky worldbuilding & formulaic narrative steps, by populating the story, told from 3 POVs headlined by strong female leads, with engaging characters, well timed twists, & an interesting world. A solid debut which leaves you wanting to know what happens next—that‘s enough to make it a pick.
It‘s a dark and story morning so the answer, obviously, is to curl up on the couch with book.
Today‘s #bookmail is actually an ARC I won in a Goodreads Giveaway in mid-April. Other readers have given it good reviews so hopefully it‘ll be an entertaining read.
The book will be released 7/21.
