"Hypnotic and chilling. " Lee Child, #1 New York Times bestselling author The international bestseller everyone is talking about He lives on your street, in a nice house with a tidy garden. He shops at your local supermarket. He drives beside you on the highway, waving to let you into the lane ahead of him. He also has an elaborate cage in a secret basement under his garage. The food he's carefully shopping for is to feed a young woman he's holding there against her willone in a string of many, unaware of the fate that awaits her. This is how it's been for a long time. It's normaland it works. Perfectly. But this time it's different

Had a copy I purchased at a library book sale that I am highly unmotivated to read. Without going into the plot too much (bad man and innocent women), some thing happened maybe 50 pages in that made me think my reading time was more valuable than this cheesy ploy. Maybe it‘s better if you push on? I‘m not sticking around to find out. Photo courtesy of Amazon UK.

aperfectmjk I also have not been impressed by this author. 3y
Reagan @aperfectmjk oh really? Same book? 3y
aperfectmjk Actually, I read Dead Girls, which is the 2nd in the series and it was terrible. 3y
Reagan The way this one was headed, that doesn‘t surprise me. 3y

After reading so many other books written in the “bad guy” perspective, this one just fell so flat for me. I love the idea of reading from the serial killer‘s POV but this was so boring and there were way too many times that the author was being intentionally vague that I just didn‘t like this one at all. The plot had enough in it that I was curious to how it ended and that‘s the only reason I gave this a 2

magyklyXdelish @TheAromaofBooks I‘ll make this one a free space for this month. At least after 3 months I can finally return it to the library now 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ 3y
TheAromaofBooks It's always good to get a book off the shelf. And I got an automatic renewal email from my library today renewing a book I've had since August soooo 😂 3y

Guys I can finally hashtag #catsoflitsy hahaha 😻 This is the second time Hearty has fallen asleep on me and I'm loving it!! Bonus that I get some read time. (Also, this book is weird and so far has no plot other than he kills people.)

Velvetfur Squeeee! Hearty is so gorgeous, such a beautiful colour 💜 Is he/she only young, too? 5y

gibblr @Velvetfur I think the cat is a she, but they didn't know for sure when I brought her to the vet about 4 weeks ago. They estimated her then at 3 months old. Her color is even prettier in person!! 😻 5y

Velvetfur @gibblr Ah OK, well I'm sure it will be easier to tell as puss gets older.... But for now Hearty is a baby, that's just too cute! Adorable 💜💜 5y

Mehso-so

This ones not for a weak stomach, and I found it a little too ‘odd‘ at times, but overall a good read. Makes you wonder if the random guy at the grocery store is a serial killer...

A mixed review from me. The story itself was unique, however I found it a little confusing and almost irrelevant. It didn‘t make me think in any way and the single person narrative became quite boring. Overall I just thought it was too try-hard.

RadicalReader @Roxy26 the book definitely has a wonderful description 6y

Day 12 of #Riotgrams: Outside. There's no way I'm going out during this blustery snow day, so I'm staying in with some creepy reading.

RadicalReader @ImAnAdult how have you enjoyed this novel? I just picked it up and started on it today 6y

Original, not your usual serial killer book. Kept me on the edge of my seat and laughed a lot also, really liked Erika as a character. I'd love a sequel!!

RadicalReader @Michellesibs some great edge of your seat reading is Passenger by Lisa Lutz, Bird Box by Josh Malerman, The One and The Good Samaritan by John Marrs 6y
Michellesibs @RadicalReader thank you! I've read the john marrs ones and loved them but I'll definitely add the others to my list! Thanks! 6y
RadicalReader @Michellesibs you‘re more than welcome always happy to help out fellow ravenous readers 6y
