pickI can‘t help it I‘m a sucker for a small town boy and the city girl romance ❤️ This had all the features of a Hallmark movie with more spice and woman of color as the MC. I thought Caila and Wyatt had sizzling chemistry and their relationship felt genuine. I‘m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

It starts off with a girl's trip among 4 old friends and book 1 follows Caila going from Chicago to a small town to shut down a plant and save her job. She's not processing her grief over her grandfather, and soon she's falling for Mayor McHottie and his town. Livesay writes diverse romances, and I'm here for it.

It‘s pretty much what you‘d expect. Big town business lady falls in love with small town hunk (who happens to be the mayor). Throw in a bit of family scandal and more than a few steamy sex scenes.

pickI really, really liked this. Big shot exec is sent to small town to try and save her career and falls in lobe with Mayor McHottie. Neither of them are being entirely truthful and so this doesn‘t have the usual not enough grovelling problem that I find in so many similar books.
Finished and absolutely adored Heart of Blood and Ashes. Barbarian fantasy romance!! One book down. Now onto a contemporary romance - Sweet Talkin' Lover. #2019goals
