This was less about the relationship of conjoined twin sisters, and more about found family and following your dreams. The carnival is a fascinating setting.

There were interesting ideas and characters and relationships in this story. But it felt like those aspects were buried under a romantic story line.

Such a beautiful and heartbreaking #graphicnovel. It is about conjoined twins that were sold by their family to a traveling sideshow until a surgeon tries to separate them and causes one of them to die. It goes into grief, how sideshows exploited the differently abled and were blatantly racist, and there is a bit of a love story thrown in there as well. Excellent book!

AkashaVampie @ElizaMarie I'm not sure if this is too heavy for u, but it is a graphic novel. 3y
ElizaMarie @AkashaVampie Wow just reading Lauren's review! It sounds beautiful but... Id ton think it is for me at all. Way too heavy! 3y
AkashaVampie @ElizaMarie that's what I thought but wasn't sure 3y
LaurenMags @ElizaMarie it is a wonderful graphic novel but it is a little heavy. It is a YA book, so it didn't go into as much detail as an adult novel would, but it is still heavy. 3y
ElizaMarie @LaurenMags It looks beautiful though! 3y

What a lovely graphic novel about loss, love, and family. Isabel and Jane are conjoined twins making a living in a sideshow until the desire for normalcy disrupts their lives. If you love stories of outsiders and the bonds that bring them together, this one is perfect for you. #Scarathlon #TeamHarkness @StayCurious

Strange and melancholy and unexpectedly relatable, which is what you‘d expect from Lisa Brown. It‘s hard to believe this is her first graphic novel. I can‘t wait for more.

Debut graphic novel by Lisa Brown
3/3/2020

We follow conjoined twins, Jane and Iss, who work for a sideshow act. Jane wants to have surgery to be separated. The result is Janes death and Isabel trying to move forward with Janes ghost.
I truly enjoyed this GN. It was a fast easy read. I loved the artwork throughout. I really liked the feel good ending.

Thank you to Macmillan for my early finished copy. Opinions are my own.

It‘s been a while since I‘ve read a graphic novel in one sitting, but this one was gripping! It may have been the idea of a phantom twin, or the sideshow setting, or even the old-school tattoo parlor; most likely a combination of all of the above and the fact that I was drawn (pun intended) to all the characters.

I have pre-ordered a physical copy and will count down the days until its release. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
