This is a Josephine Tey mystery, it's in a series and I have read a few of them. In this one a young women was killed many years earlier but someone is writing an article about the event in present time. Josephine is worried that her personal circumstances might be revealed, which is too say she is gay. But she also tries to clear up what happened to the young woman. I enjoyed it, and while the mystery didn't grip me, still a good one.

Loved this. I love the fictional version of Josephine Tey, and the world that Upson has created around her. This one had echoes of The Franchise Affair, and maybe Miss Pym Disposes as well. I need to reread Tey proper sometime as I‘ve mostly forgotten the plots, but these are a really good series as well.

I have absolutely no idea if 20 hours reading in 4 days is a bit beyond me or well beyond me but I‘ll never know if I don‘t try! I‘d like to get stuck into the tagged book as well finishing off at least two of the three I‘m already reading. #20in4

So, I‘ve only just joined this site but I already feel like I‘ve found my people. I really liked this murder mystery. I picked it up knowing nothing about it. It turned out to be book 8 in a series, but actually I don't think that impacted my enjoyment of it. It works as a standalone. Will have to seek out the rest of the series.

First visit to a bookstore since lockdown started. It was actually ok, lots of space. But in general, definitely finding it strange being around people - lots of people really don't get social distancing. I'll be retreating to my shell imminently. However, looking forward to reading my purchases. On Wednesdays we buy red books.

This has been on my TBR pile for sometime. It‘s there because my partner didn‘t like it. I read what she doesn‘t like and usually love them. 😊. I did enjoy this. I needed something light after Catch 22. Twists and turns in the plot and I didn‘t guess the end. Libraries open here so I‘ll look out another for a quick enjoyable read.

#Sorry is a great tag to promote the latest book in the Josephine Tey series (book 8) by Nicola Upson, which is released in the U.K. in two days time. Great where one author writes a book where the central character is an author who wrote books from the 1920s to the 1950s. #Movember
