Rissreads Wow! How many people have stacked this book! How are you doing? X 3y
JennyM @Rissreads it‘s a really great read - I learnt so much. I‘m good thanks. How are you all? It‘s been a bit of a time in Aus, hasn‘t it?!!! 3y
Rissreads Yep! It‘s a bit of a mess! But we are so lucky compared with the rest of the world. I will feel better when my kids are vaccinated, I feel scared for them. 3y
CarolynM 👋 Hi Jenny. I've missed seeing you around. Hope you're well💕 3y
JennyM @CarolynM hello Carolyn 👋 Thanks for thinking of me. I‘ve just had a little break from Litsy but hope to be back on the band wagon soon. How are you doing? I can only imagine how over it all you must feel. And I hope your daughter has recovered ok after her operation. 😘 xxx 3y
CarolynM 👍 It's depressing having the case numbers rising in spite of lockdown (it's clear we don't have the level of compliance we had last year - I could go on at length about why that is but this isn't the time I'd place for it) I've been feeling a bit down about it, but I'm trying to be more positive this week. The foot is slowly healing, she's off the crutches but will be getting around in a moonboot for another week or two. Thanks for asking😘 3y
JennyM @CarolynM it is really sad to see the numbers going up and I can only imagine how you must be feeling. Hoping things start to turn soon and that vaccination rates race up. Sending very big hugs and hope your daughter goes ok with the moonboot xxx 3y
TrishB Hi Jenny 👋 just thinking of you today too! 3y
JennyM @TrishB aw, thank you Trish. My thesis is taking up all my brain power at the moment - T minus 3 months til submission! I miss my Litsy friends though and hope to be back in the swing of things soon. Hope you are good? Big hugs xxx 😘 3y
TrishB Oh that‘s a very busy time! It will all be worth it to be Dr Jenny ❤️ All good, just taking daughter back to final year of uni 😱 3y
JennyM @TrishB even bigger hugs then. Hope she settles back ok and you have a good train ride home. Your house will be quiet 😢 so snuggle up to Sansa xxx (edited) 3y
BiblioLitten Hope you are keeping well, Jenny. 💕 3y

I remember a recent post asking Littens about books they‘d read by an indigenous author. Well, here‘s a list of books by an Aboriginal Australian and Native Americans.

My fave Native American author/storyteller is a friend of mine from Austin, Tim Tingle. He‘s not in this list, but I also recommend his children‘s books.

MsMelissa I don‘t know if this is just my perception as a Canadian, but it seems to me that Canada does a much better job of promoting Indigenous authors than the U.S. does. For those interested, in addition to your list, I would encourage anyone looking to read more Indigenous stories to seek out Canadian lists for suggestions (although I honestly don‘t know many works would be available outside of Canada). 4y
Butterfinger Thanks for sharing. 4y

GingerAntics I was just looking up books by Native American authors and reflecting on the privilege I had to learn positive things about native Americans in grades 4-8. 4y
SamAnne I am in love with Harjo‘s poetry. And have The Only Good Indians on order! 4y
GingerAntics The Only Good Indians looks SO good, as does Black Sun. I added a book to my lost on how Native American thinking of the world and the land could save the world from climate change earlier today, so I love that there is an Australian take on this as well. I am SO interested in that. 4y
