Then he saw the rats. They crowded in the gutters and prowled among the cars, their restless, curved backs forming one writhing, streaming mass. One rat the size of a tomcat lumbered in front of the ambulance, indifferent to its noise and motion, and begin feeding on the face of a corpse.
The culmination of this year‘s rat-infested “tails” of horror would have been missed if not for reading @Moosmoo review here on Litsy. This books has rats! Plague! Disillusionment with the government of the US of A! That little pickle with this book is one of our rats, Pancake! 🐀
This novel starts off quite slowly, has a really fast paced middle and an abrupt ending, I felt a bit like I had whiplash 😂
I really enjoyed the story though, New York City is hit by plague and spreads uncontrollably, our main character races against time to stop it. There is a bit of everything in this book, the only reason I took a star off is because of the ending!
Unpacking boxes we have had in the garage since we moved in and found this gem! I think it was my sisters, but now it‘s mine. Those are finders keepers rules and they always apply. Super psyched! A whole box full of true crime paperbacks too!
