Just before summer begins, 13-year-old Ali finds an odd photograph in the attic. She knows the two children in it are her mother, Claire, and her aunt Dulcie. This used to be an annual summer read for me. It is a fun quick spooky read that‘s perfect for summer but I think this is the year when I‘m too old for it. I liked the spooky elements but maybe it‘s time to grow up

Ali's aunt asks her to accompany her and her daughter Emma for the summer to the same lake house. Things change dramatically when they meet the enigmatic Sissy. Reading this one on my reluctant reader 13 year old's recommendation! He read this in his small group reading class and really enjoyed it so I decided to buy it. Looking forward to discussing this creepy little story with him! I also happen to love Mary Downing Hahn myself! Lol

This was a solid upper elementary suspense novel. I admit, I had to watch a funny tv show after reading before bed because I didn't want to turn off the light!
