Madeline Finn and the Library Dog is a cute RF book about a girl overcoming her fear of reading. In this book, Madeline Finn doesn't like to read especially not out loud. She's let down after never getting a star, but instead, stickers that just say keep trying. Madeline goes to the library when the librarian has her read to a dog named Bonnie! Madeline loved reading to Bonnie, especially since she wasn't afraid to make a mistake in front of her!
Finishing up my last week of my first semester of Masters in Library Science! Big research paper due Sunday 😳Prayers and good vibes are appreciated 🙏🏻
This wonderful lady here helped me get my job as a school librarian !! We work at two different districts, but man I am so grateful for this friend and librarian mentor 🙌🏻💙

Went to Texas Library Association today! What a great time! Free ARC books for myself , and a couple signed books for my Library. Will post more pics
Ugh! It annoys me when teachers don‘t realize the emotional damage they inadvertently inflict on struggling readers. Thankfully Madeline finds a friend who gives her the confidence she needs to succeed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Cute! I absolutely love the idea of kiddos reading to dogs. The nonjudgement of it, I think, is super helpful. I always wanted to take my kid to one of these, but couldn't ever find one :( (9/20)

• Chester, the King Charles Spaniel 👑 • Chester, one of our certified therapy dogs and my personal favorite. The Tail Waggin Tutors group comes every second Saturday of the month for kids to read to 💙 Needless to say that the children's librarians also love the excuse for puppy therapy 😍
Working in tech service in a library means I get exposed to a lot of picture books. I try to read as many as possible. This story, about a girl finding her voice after meeting a reading dog, was touching and sweet. And the art was truly lovely!

Madeline Finn has trouble reading in school and dreads going to the library...until the librarian introduces her to their 'read to a dog' program and she meets Bonnie. Gently encouraging and beautiful, this book will appeal to more than just reluctant readers and animal lovers. 👍
Today we presented our Tail Wagging Tutors(& their humans) this book with a dedication plate to them. I have seen these dogs help bring out confidence from timid readers,& provide encouragement in reading aloud. I have a similar story as "Madeline" in the book- I hated reading bc I couldn't pronounce the words correctly&was embarrassed of my speech impediment. Because of volunteer dogs, my own dogs&Harry Potter I learned to be a confident reader.
What a wonderful story. We tell a similar story every time we talk to a parent to tell them about our Paws to Read program. I am for anything that will get kids to read more. An story that illustrates what an incredible roll your local library can play in your child‘s education.
