Where Is the White House?
Where Is the White House? | Megan Stine
1 post | 1 read | 1 to read
The history of the White House, first completed in 1799, reflects the history of America itself. It was the dream of George Washington to have an elegant "presidential mansion" in the capital city that was named after him. Yet he is the only president who never got to live there. All the rest have made their mark--for better or worse--on the house at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Megan Stine explains how the White House came to be and offers young readers intriguing glimpses into the lives of the First Families--from John and Abigail Adams to Barack and Michelle Obama.

This NF read by Megan Stine and Illustrated by David Groff was an amazing read to learn even more facts about the White House! There was so much information in this little book about how it began and when, why they chose where it is located. This book was a great insight to students about the Capital of the Country! I would use this as a PR and allow them to make a presentation to display information that they learned UDL #5.1 #UCFLAE3414SU19

Macker11 While the students are in pairs to make a presentation, and then present it they are working with ESOL#10. 5y
