Went here yesterday. I don‘t mean to knock B&N and Amazon, but there is something so magical and special about your local, small, independent bookstore. The shelves are thoughtfully curated. The people who work there are friendly and incredibly knowledgeable (and able to make excellent recommendations).

I think part of the wonder of books and reading is connecting with book sellers who love books and reading as much as you do.

JacqMac Agreed! I think you can feel the love in an independent bookstore. 5y
saresmoore Yes! Such a lovely thought. 5y
AlaMich And being in a store where it‘s clear that one or two actual humans put a lot of thought into the space itself, rather than some corporate design team stamping out cookie cutter stores. Sorry for the run-on sentence there! 😳😆 5y

kyraleseberg I visited both Avid locations for the first time a couple months ago and loved them! The staff is amazing and they have such great selections. Indie bookstores offer so much more than books and that's why I try to choose them no matter how tempting the one-click button is on Amazon ;) 5y

LeahBergen Oh, you are so right! 😍😍 5y
Slajaunie I agree with you wholeheartedly! 💙💙 5y
marleed I decided that I‘d pay full price for a book once a quarter at my local Indy bookstore. Everyone wants it to succeed and I asked would I donate $100 bucks a year to retain a local bookstore? Yes! So with that in mind, I get 4 free books for the quarterly donation! 5y
readordierachel Completely agree! 5y
Birdsong28 It's nice that you have that option. I only have a local Waterstones and the Supermarkets for my reading needs. So Amazon is my only option if I want books that aren't in the charts. I would love to have independent bookstore in my town. 📚📖 5y
Leftcoastzen It‘s important and rewarding to support indies.I‘ve discovered things I never would have found otherwise.I try to search them out in my travels.Wish more people had them in their towns. But any way a person can find books to read... 5y
ItsAngel @LauraBeth off topic for this post, but did you get the LMPBC book mailed out? 5y
Suet624 I know I sound like a broken record but if a local bookstore isn‘t available Better World Books is a wonderful option. Amazon will never get my $$$. 😀 5y
