Happy Independent Bookstore Day! Took my boys to the tagged. I was very good and only bought two books 🎉 The third was a free ARC with purchase.
Yes! One of my local indie bookstores (tagged) runs amazing book events, and a wonderful festival, Book Drunkard, in the fall. I get to volunteer at a lot of the events, which include signings. So far I've met: Fredrik Backman, Ann-Marie MacDonald, David Robertson, CS Richardson, Michael Crummey, Alissa York, Holly Hogan, Heather O'Neill, and Jane Urquhart.

I set myself a budget and totally stuck to it! (Maybe I should buy another book to celebrate...)
I went in with the plan to get Brotherless Night and to discover some new titles that weren't on my radar, and I succeeded on all counts 👍🎉

Week 1 of my summer vacation is in the books (pun somewhat intended😂). It flew by! The highlight was visiting my local indie bookstore and snagging these beauties. Yay for summer reading!

Who else headed out for #IndependentBookstoreDay yesterday? I managed to stick to my #20in4 goal of buying less than 20 books 🤣🤣🤣 Got some great stuff for myself, and a few for the kiddos at the tagged, my favourite local bookstore!
Remember being a kid, and getting so excited and starry-eyed when the Sears Gift Book came out each year? That's how I feel when Blue Heron puts out their Books for Everyone guide. If you're ever in the area, this amazing store consistently makes it into lists of Canada's best independent bookstores. It's a joyous place! (Someone's #LittleChristmasSwap book came from here....)
