A literary graphic novel unlike anything else on the racks, "750 Years" tells the story of our time, focusing on one single building in France as it sees its way through the upheavals of history. Beginning in the thirteenth century and making its way towards today, this historically accurate story is the eagerly anticipated debut from Vincent Mahe.Vincent Mahe is fast being established as one of the most exciting illustrators to come out of France. As well as his contribution to "Nobrow 8: Hysteria" he has been widely commissioned across the world to illustrate for publications such as the "New York Times" and "XXI Magazine.""

This is the coolest book! I found it while walking past a shelf at my library and somehow its spine caught my attention. It shows major events in French history through the transformation of this structure. No words, just the years and the changes. It was such an interesting way to experience this history. After reading, I was delighted to find the timeline at the back that helped contextualize some of the pages. #History #French

This book is simply not to be missed! With the date on the left page and an illustration of the building on the right page, this wordless book--with only a timeline at the back--takes the same building through 750 years of Paris's history, from 1265 to 2015. Stunning, moving, and thought-provoking.

Zelma What a cool concept! Reminds me of this book. 7y

Like an extreme version of "The Little House" (one of my favorite books as a kid), this gorgeous book follows one building as it faces the black death and hundred years war through the French Revolution, Nazi occupation, all the way to je suis charlie. #wordless #paris #gorgeous #art

hgrimes What a beautiful illustration. Who is the artist? 7y

My library had this charming volume of wonderfulness on the "New" display, such wonderfulness that I ordered one to have as my own. While there is a brief timeline in back, its wordless pages remind me of being too little to read, pouring over the pictures, constructing a story for myself. Special!
