Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin I: Activation
Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin I: Activation | Yoshikazu Yasuhiko
6 posts | 4 read | 4 to read
It is the year Universal Century 0079, in a space colony the Earth Federation is storing and testing a new piloted robot for use in the battle against the Principality of Zeon. The experimental RX-78 Gundam mobile suit is scheduled to be transported to Federation command in Jaburo, deep within the Brazilian jungles. Unfortunatley, before the transporter would arrive, the Federation would come under attack from Zeon. With few resources available against the Zeon's most mobile mechs, Federation forces strike back using their new weapon, the mobile suit Gundam. Caught in the crossfire is a young teen named Amuro Ray.Not willing to see innocent people die like this, Amuro crawls into the cockpit of the closest machine around him. Whether it be a tank, jeep or jet, he was going to use it to help stop this slaughter. And what he happened to slide into was another Gundam. Having never operated a machine like this, what are the chances he can do anything to repel an experienced squad ofmech-piloting invaders? Volume 1 includes an essay from Hideaki Anno, director of the hit anime Neon Genesis Evengelion. Color pages from Yas. And an essay from Kadokawa PublishingExecutive Shinichiro Inoue."

#3books I've gifted to my boyfriend.

I don't think he actually read them yet, but they're a nice background to his Gundam models.

Day 20: #orange #colormepretty
The only book I own with some orange, it‘s my hardcover manga for Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin. I love Gundam so much and I was so ecstatic when they were released in hardcover. I have read this haha, and I will say Gundam isn‘t for everyone but if your into giant Robots and political war fare then you should give it a shot. Also yes I built those two little Gundams hehe!

BooknerdsLife Awww I love watching the animation/cartoon on TV when I was young 😍🙈 Never read any of the manga tho 5y
Sweetkokoro @booknerdslife oh that‘s so awesome that you used to watch it. The whole franchise is a favorite of mine, I truly love it. 5y
BooknerdsLife @Sweetkokoro 😆Hahaa yes! Used to watch lots of Japanese cartoon that‘s on TV long time ago! 😂🙈 I used to have those Gundam models too 😁❤️ So happy to know you love it too! 5y
Sweetkokoro @booknerdslife Ah that‘s so awesome. I have been dedicated fan since I was like 14, I still watch them, read them and build much harder models now haha. I never thought I would find a fellow fan in the book world! 5y
GrilledCheeseSamurai I've wanted these HC's for so long now. I really oughta Strat collecting them! 5y

This past Christmas my sister got me Book 1 of Gundam The Origin, while I have watched tons of Gundam series & read tons of one shots & other Gundam mangas, I had never gotten around to starting from the beginning (manga wise, Anime wise I watched that already). If your interested in giant robots, Military space fights, & space politics then look for Mobile Suit Gundam, lots of robot action. Also let‘s appreciate that cover art.

Status: tea and grading (end of grading period is tomorrow, oops)

For the unfamiliar, the mug design is a Zaku, a type of robot/mobile suit (think Power Rangers and how they have these robot animal vehicle things) from the Gundam universe.
