For the second year in a row, I won a prize in my library‘s summer reading program!! This year it was the “grand prize”—a swag bag filled with four ARCs; a library-branded pencil case, water bottle, and hand sanitizer; bookmarks to color; three pins; a sign/fan (??)… and vouchers for tickets to a show at the city performing arts theatre. 🎉📚🏆📚🎉

When it rains… 😳

I thought I was far enough down the holds list for Heartwood and Silverborn that it‘d take a LOT longer for those to make their way to me. Looks like I‘ll be needing to clear my schedule!!

I spent a lovely rainy morning browsing the local library book sale with my niece and her daughter (well, tiny niece spent the time playing with her new bunny toy)—here are the results of the morning! The four I‘ve read already (including the vintage Anne of Avonlea) don‘t count 😆 They were giving everyone a free copy of the Ren Faire book! #bookhaul

Gaaaah. I got both of these hold notifications within an hour of each other. I want both. Do I have room in my current reading lineup? No. Am I going to read them both anyway? Yep.

I just put this in my 5 Joys Friday post, but it deserves its own post! I‘m super excited about this prize from the library summer reading program—especially the three books! I‘ve been wanting to read Family Lore by Elizabeth Acevedo, and Tim O‘Brien‘s The Things They Carried is on my TBR, so I‘m interested to check out America Fantastica. I hadn‘t heard of The Hundred Loves of Juliet but it sounds good! And then of course all the library swag 😁

What a delightful surprise—I won a prize in my library summer reading program! It‘s funny because I kind of stopped participating after I completed the challenge halfway through June, by having read six books. 😆 I think they need to add a “super reader” option that requires more than just six books for the whole three months. 😁📚📚

Library book sale today 😁 The Friends of the Library are such enablers. Their volunteers were roaming around the room and every time I amassed a small pile of books, they‘d ask if I wanted to start a stack on the holding table. So I didn‘t realize how many books I had set aside… this is stack 1 of 3 🙈

I‘m SUPER excited about A Begonia for Miss Applebaum, which I remember loving when I was a kid. And the LeGuin, and the Pratchett…and… and…😁

Library book sale today! I spent $14 and probably undid all the progress I‘ve made this year on reading my own books and not buying more. But… look at that lovely stack! Two are for my niece, and two others I‘ve already read, so they don‘t “count.” 😆
