panThe only word I can use to describe this book is “tedious.” The storyline is all over the place and by the end I was wondering what the point of it all was. This is my first book by this author. I suspect it may also be my last. 😖

pickI liked, but didn‘t love this. Given how much I usually love books by this author, that‘s not much of a criticism. This was a bit predictable, but I enjoyed how it explored friendships and the ways they change & shift from college into adulthood. I also love how De Los Santos manages to take lovable characters, throw them in with thoroughly unlikeable characters, and make you understand & feel for them all so deeply by the end of the book!

pickA killing-time-at-the-airport pick that turned out really well. Sympathetic characters at a crossroads with each other. An exploration of friendship, love, connection, the ways these things change over time and the ways that they form a constant in life. The final section is set in the Philippines (how they get there is a little contrived, but a minor complaint). The descriptions of the country and the food make me long to go there myself.
