"An addictive read. It's one of the most compelling novels I've read in a long time."For Winter Nights What Happens When The Ones You Lost Come Back From The Dead? In a small Alpine village, people start to appear, trying to return to their homes after a terrible accident none of them can recall. What they do not yet know is that they have been dead for several yearsand no one is expecting them back. But they are not the only ones to have seemingly returned from the dead. Their arrival coincides with a series of horrific murders, which bear a chilling resemblance to the work of a serial killer from the past... A stunning, page-turner filled with startling real characters, The Returned, is a captivating, emotional drama. The international bestseller based on the hit French TV series Les Revenants that inspires A&E's The Returned.

I finished two books today! I am glad I finished this one before bed because it was ridiculously creepy! I did feel that the ending was rushed and some things weren‘t explained, but I couldn‘t put it down.

This is a little dark, but it is a regular evening occurrence. The chocolate one (Carson) drapes himself across my lap and the red dapple doxie (Utley) sleeps behind him, while I read! #dogsofLitsy

I remember watching and liking the tv show adaptation of this book. Bargain price + coupon + gift card + #bookbuyingban in 3 days made this a no-brainer.

The Newt Scamander Funko keychain was also 50% off. ☺️

Hhmmm..Writing is good, but too graphic for an old lady from Mayberry RFD. I don't do sci-fi, fantasy, undead zombies. I know there's a group out there that likes this sort, so they would probably enjoy the book. Starts out good, gets weird quickly. Some of the dead come back to life ..they end up being evil and do some pretty disturbing graphic things. I know it sounds stupid for someone that reads true crime to be disturbed by fiction. 2⭐️

Jinjer Not "stupid" but "interesting ". I'm curious to know why one bothers you and the other doesn't! 2y
Kaye @Jinjer I think because things that happen in real life are true. You see things on the news constantly about murders, shootings, etc. I find the true crime books fascinating to learn why people do the things they do, how they get caught, what punishment they get. The fictional stuff is creepier to me because it's creepy stuff floating around in some writer's head. Hard to explain. 2y
Jinjer Makes total sense! 2y
