Marvin K. Mooney Will You Please Go Now!
Marvin K. Mooney Will You Please Go Now! | Dr. Seuss
7 posts | 9 read
Dr. Seuss has always been welcome in every reader's home, but in this Bright and Early Book classic, Marvin K. Mooney's welcome has been worn out! In merry verse and illustrations, Marvin is asked to leave by every conceivable means of transportation. He can leave by lion's tail or stamp himself and go by mail. By stilts or Crunk-Car or Zumble-Zay, it's time that Marvin was on his way. Will Marvin ever get the hint? Combining brief and funny stories, easy words, catchy rhythm, and lively illustrations, Bright and Early Books are an ideal way to introduce the joys of reading to children.

Inspired by @Bookwomble

It's a lively, short, entertaining read in the vein of Dr. Seuss. Can count my lucky stars....for now!

Inspired by Dr. Seuss, Martin Bodek implores DJT to do one. Not without tantrums (and attempted insurrection), he kinda did, but seems to be hanging around like a fart in a lift (elevator) 🍑💨🤭
Anyway, Martin has kindly gifted his humorous picture book to humanity, and you can read it for free here: https://archive.org/details/DJTWYPGNBook

This Dr. Seuss fantasy is not as difficult to read as some other books of his. He still includes the silly words, but I think that with the pictures and repetition, it would be a good starter Dr. Seuss book. Here is a little activity to get those wiggles out while you read this book to your kiddos: http://www.pbslearningmedia.org/resource/d6e2018d-edec-4386-abf1-275e22c3b9bf/ma... #UCFLAE3414sp17

DrSpalding PBS is another quality source for educational activities! Nice! 7y
Alisoncavicchi This is a Dr. Seuss book I have actually never heard of! I love the resource and after looking into the book I agree it is a great tool for beginning readers and basic lessons! 7y

#TBT To the first book I can remember reading all by myself...in which a dude named Marvin goes only when he's bloody well ready. What were your first reads?

SusanInTiburon The Cat in the Hat is the first book I remember hiding under my pillow. 8y

KVanRead @EliseWhitmore An excellent choice!😊 8y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa Dr Seuss of course, The Bernstein Bears, and for me the special ones my mom signed up for when I was very little that they added things like your name and address into the story as characters. I still have some of those on my shelf. Plus the stories that used to come with little 45 records, so you could play them and read along with the story. 😊 8y
KVanRead @Riveted_Reader_Melissa Oh I loved the little 45 read alongs!! I used to listen to them on my Fisher Price record player. And the Berenstein B Book was a big one for me 👍😊 8y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @KVanRead Yes, that's the one! And I had the same player too! I was always partial to 8y
