So late with my week one checkin for #BFCR2 because we‘ve been stuck in airports in Madrid for two days and it‘s been kinda nuts. Finally got to Gran Canaria and settled in! I hit my step goal almost every day (nearly doubled it today) and did my yoga every day. I didn‘t track my veggies well, but I finished four books (2 I was pretty far in). Pretty good first week -and I just saw that that #teamlitnfit also nailed it!!

mcipher @janeycanuck We did sleep in a hotel, but we spent all day in the airport, pretty much. I did get some reading and walking done at least! And I am appreciating the outside world a lot today! 5y

Pickpick

This book was so, so good. I loved every bit of each character's journeys. If you enjoy character driven novels, be sure to pick this one up. Now I need to find some more Ayelet Waksman novels. Her writing is beautiful.

Lola I adore her writing. Years ago, I sent her an email telling her so and she actually emailed me back. I was in book-nerd heaven for days 😍 7y

I've really dug into this book over the past couple of days. Its fascinating. This paragraph questioning the concept that God doesn't give you more than you can handle has made me think all morning. This may not be the most uplifting read for a long holiday weekend, but I'm constantly drawn to it, so I'll take it.

Megabooks This is a really hard concept for people to tell you when you've had a lot of stuff happen in your life. It's like, should I pray to be weak? 7y
LitHousewife @Booksandcooks I agree and I'm sure I've said that to others because I know I've said it to myself for reassurance. Sometimes I don't think through those traditional things I say. It might be better to say that God will give you the strength you need to make it through. I believe that. I believe you're not alone. 7y

I saw a Facebook post about this book, remembered that I've owned it for awhile, and decided to make it my next read. I'm only 30 pages in, but I love Waldman's writing. I'm thankful for Facebook prompts.

AmyWrites I absolutely loved this book. I also loved the premise, because in theory it shouldn't work. But it's such a great story and she tells it so well! 7y
