I am gutted. I got into this series because I'm a serious angst bunny but I'm never prepared for it. This might be my favorite in the series so far. I really enjoy the mystery aspect of these books but it's the relationship between Clare and Russ that make them 5 star reads.

Christinak Based on this I will need to continue the series. I just read the first one last month - I liked it but was not sure if I wanted to invest in ANOTHER series... 6y
danibolahood @Christinak i know what you mean about investing in more series. I do find I'm able to go for quite awhile between these books and not feel lost when I pick up the next one so there's a little less pressure that way. 6y

Finished! Well, that ending sure packs a wallop. I felt like she really raised the stakes in this one across the board. I‘m curious to see how the story evolves from here! #audiobook

Update: Crisis averted. The book was now available to renew! Yay! // WHY does this always happen to me? 1:40:48 left, 9 hours left on the loan, and not enough time tonight to finish it 😫 I‘m switching it to 1.75 speed, but that won‘t be enough for the 45 minute window of time I have to listen #audiobook

#FunFridayPhoto Julia Spencer Fleming's fictional Adirondack town of Miller's Kill is at its darkest and most complex during extremes in weather. Mostly this is bone chilling cold and endless snow. I love the dual narratives moving in opposite directions in Out of the Deep I Cry, and the stark contrast between frozen winter in All Mortal Flesh and scorching summer in I Shall Not Want is as evocative as the stories themselves. Just. So. Good.
