#PoetryMatters #Day8 #Toad I totally love frogs, I have a family of green tree frogs living in my gutters that sing when there‘s rain( bwarrk brawwk brawwk)but I‘ll pass on toads. When I was in Queensland there were godawful cane toads everywhere. Now that‘s one ugly animal. #WinterGames #TeamEvergreen 6pts

“She was as strong as a lock box and as long as a good spot in the windstorm.”

The author‘s language gives this story a strength and mystical quality that must be shared with young readers.

Pickpick

This story is about a might backwoods Ohio woman. She travels from town to town taking order for footwear, returning six months later with finished products. She knows how important the orders are to the town of Chagrin Falls and it is necessary to show the king that she is a hard worker.

Shoes walk us through the wide world. We ought to give them back somewhat before we walk out of it.

I thought this was an okay book but I probably wouldn't read it again. The legand is cool about how tall she was and the way she lived her life.

Mehso-so

Historical fiction and was written in 2001. This story is about an old woman named susannah DeClare and her horse named PawPaw. Miss DeClare was cobbler that made the best shoes around and has stories of her going from place to place meeting people and having unique experiences. Dub a character that DeClare met remembers her words and inspiration.

An example of the dull illustrations, but “shoes-Annan” doing what she does best

-historical fiction
About a plainswoman Susannah and they cal her “shoes-annah” because of her wonderful talent. This book shows friendship and Christmas joy. Easy read with dull illustrations.

This whole last part actually made me change my mind about my review and see that Susannah and PawPaw were real and the story was just slightly exaggerated, but mostly accurate!

Published in 2001, this historical fiction book tells the story of an incredibly tall woman who makes the finest shoes in town. The story takes place traveling across Ohio and shows the woman caring for different needs everywhere she goes! However, I don‘t see how it is authentic and provided with strong facts from the past.
