And just got book mail! This is my lucky day lol. I'm excited for the Chronicles of Prydain as me and my sister @CymbaX13 loved watching the black cauldron when we were kids. #bookends #childrens #YA #fantasy #bravery #warriors #owl #knight #bookseries

SayersLover Knight Owls looks super cute based on the few pictures I‘ve seen. I‘m planning on putting it on hold soon so I can fully enjoy it. @hannah-leeloo 2y
hannah-leeloo Had to get it @SayersLover as my son loves knights and we all love owls so worked really well. Hope you manage to get it hun 2y

I was recommended the Prydain Chronicles by a coworker because I never read them as a kid. I‘m liking the story line. Very LOTR and TOAFK - esque.

Sadly, I haven‘t felt much like reading for the past couple of days. So I‘m going to do the #7favesin7days thing that I haven‘t done yet! Not necessarily my top seven, just seven that I love and everyone should read! I‘m cheating with a series, I guess. 🤷🏻‍♀️No more explanation!

I revisited this beloved series that I probably haven't read in 30 years. I recommend this as a pre-LOTR type read for 8-12 year olds. Wonderful stories full of favorite characters.

If you haven't heard of this before, please read them! I first stumbled upon them in middle school. I heard they will be turned into movies! Disney made "The Black Cauldron" back in the day, but live action will be better suited to the style in which Lloyd Alexander wrote them. "The High King" won a Newberry Award!

Welcome to the first day Banned Book Week! The Chronicles of Prydain by Lloyd Alexander was banned in 1994 by a Massachusetts Middle School as it promoted dark magic and witchcraft. Never mind that book five of the series, The High King, won the Newbery Medal in the late 60s. #bannedbooks #bannedbookweek

It's a traditional classic tale. This kind of plot could be found anywhere in nowadays novels. But somehow this series touched my soul more deeply than any other books I've loved. It reached to my conscience. It taught me what good deeds truly are.

stargazerblue49 Is that the series that The Black Cauldron is based on? 8y
pppooraikul @stargazerblue49 Yes, it's the second of the five books. And for once Disney didn't give this book the justice in their animated film. 😂 8y
Mayread That series was my jam when i was a kid. Once I started reading the books, it was bye-bye, Narnia. I was all about the way darker Prydain. If you like it, you should try a crack at the medieval Welsh stories the series is based upon, 8y

readinginthedark Lovelovelove this series! You should also read the Fairyland series by Catherynne M. Valente! Darker but amazing. 8y
pppooraikul @readinginthedark Ooh! It's like you've read my mind! That book's on my TBR list and I LOVE Valente's work. I've read this and I know I need to read all her other books. ❤️😁 8y
readinginthedark @pppooraikul It's so good! I'm on the third one; I believe there are five. She just finished the series this or last year. Haven't read her others, but I will be! 8y
