Percy Jackson's Greek Heroes
Percy Jackson's Greek Heroes | Rick Riordan
Who cut off Medusa's head? Who was raised by a she-bear? Who tamed Pegasus? It takes a demigod to know, and Percy Jackson can fill you in on the all the daring deeds of Perseus, Atalanta, Bellerophon, and the rest of the major Greek heroes. Told in the funny, irreverent style readers have come to expect from Percy, ( I've had some bad experiences in my time, but the heroes I'm going to tell you about were the original old school hard luck cases. They boldly screwed up where no one had screwed up before. . .) and enhanced with vibrant artwork by Caldecott Honoree John Rocco, this story collection will become the new must-have classic for Rick Riordan's legions of devoted fans--and for anyone who needs a hero. So get your flaming spear. Put on your lion skin cape. Polish your shield and make sure you've got arrows in your quiver. We're going back about four thousand years to decapitate monsters, save some kingdoms, shoot a few gods in the butt, raid the Underworld, and steal loot from evil people. Then, for dessert, we'll die painful tragic deaths. Ready? Sweet. Let's do this.

Not as much fun as Greek Gods, but still very entertaining.
Percy's dry humour and view of these heroes just make me laugh.

And I saw there's a new Percy Jackson & the Olympians coming September, so Mega excited about that.

My grand total for this #20in4 #ReadAThon is a never reached before 30h23m
I credit the off day I had on Friday AND The Empty Chair that I couldn't put down.

I finished 2 books (Dreams of Gods & Monsters and The Empty Chair) and I'm about ½ way with Percy Jackson's Greek Heroes

Thanks for all the fun @Andrew65

Day 1 of #20in4 #ReadAThon was very successful!
I had the day off and basically just read from the moment my eyes opened until now that they're feeling heavy. So I'm calling it day 1 at 11h20m
I'm glad I read the whole day, as I might not have as much reading time as I expected for the rest of the weekend.

@Andrew65

Andrew65 An awesome start 👏👏👏 12mo

Great book! I‘ve reread this sooo many times 😄 the stories are humorous and great as always, except this time Percy is writing!

somebooksaround Omg I can‘t wait to read this series! I can‘t believe I haven‘t, but I love the mythology themes so much!! 🙌 6y
EmeraldSorceress No problem @josteele!! Also, just so you know, it‘s about geek myths not Percy Jackson‘s specific story!!! But it‘s just as funny!!! 😄 I also love mythology! 6y
somebooksaround Love it!! That‘s all good bc honestly anything to do with mythological vibes is a go for me🙌🙌🙌 right, it‘s a great world. Feels endless in the best way! 6y
EmeraldSorceress @josteele I agree!! That‘s a great way to put it! Also, they have a much harder time than most of us and usually end up in a bad spot- it makes me feel so much better about myself! 6y

I usually enjoy these books but that didn't happen with this one. Idk, i liked Greek Gods but Greek Heroes was boring :(

Went a little bonkers at Chapters today, got a bunch of books for the kids for Christmas. Couldn't fit them all in one picture. 🙈 these are for the 12 year old and 9 year old.

Pretty much anything Percy Jackson I love. But this has such a great line about the Golden Fleece and the endorsement of the Super Sheep that I couldn't stop giggling.

I truly adore Percy's sense of humour and how Rick writes him. And since he's a son of Poseidon, I think it's more than appropriate to use a filter that looks a little sea green. #percyjackson

This was left in lost and found at work and I get to keep it because it wasn't claimed. I was flipping through it, stopped on this, and choke laughed. Thanks Rick Riordan, thanks. 😂😂

This was the first time I had heard the stories of Psyche or Otrera and I absolutely loved them. The narration is perfect. Both of the women have wonderful stories.

"Well, yes. Of course you're beautiful. But I love you because of how you handled it. You never let it go to your head. You tried to tell the people no. You kept your faith in the gods. I admired the way you endured your sadness and loneliness." ❤️
