Welp, this book has broken me 😢 the trilogy is far from perfect and there were some parts which bogged down. However, there are some absolutely fantastic bits of character-driven fiction. And I have to mention Jorg - one of the most intriguing, awful, yet sympathetic anti-heroes in fantasy. I‘ve loved how he developed over the series and I‘m not quite ready to let him go. A solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the whole trilogy.

100 pages into book 3 of the Broken Empire Trilogy, so far only one chapter has been really boring but it‘s still living up to what I have been loving with the other two books. Time to find out if Jorg will get what is aiming for! And how everything else will unfold

Also so far my man Makin is still good, again I will rage if something happens to him.

'You don't want to know, Jorg,' he said. 'The future is a dark place. We all die there.'

@Cinfhen
This is actually a cover of a short story by Mark Lawrence called 'During the Dance' but it's not in the Litsy database.

Sometimes it cuts to see other men more passionate than I about the things that I should care for.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is the third book in the Broken Empire trilogy. It's a fantasy series with a few twists and turns when it comes to the world building. The prose is neat. And the hero is basically an anti-hero, sometimes more of a villain. I enjoyed all 3 books! Highly recommended to fantasy fans who like dark protagonists and stories.

Such a satisfying ending to an intense series. It wrapped everything up, without hog tying it and strangling the story. Sometimes authors carry on a successful series too long, but Lawrence has the right touch here with the Empire of Thorns series. This series surprised me with its post-apocalyptic aspect, but is was far from gimmicky, it was a refreshing use of technology gone awry. Loved it, can't wait for more from Lawrence.
