'Corinna Chapman is an absolute delight.' Bookseller + Publisher Corinna Chapman, baker extraordinaire, talented sleuth, stalwart friend and lover, is back! When a distraught Scottish veteran from Afghanistan is knocked unconscious, waking up to find his beloved ex-service dog missing, Corinna and her lover, Daniel, find themselves inextricably drawn into the machinations of a notorious underworld gang of drug runners. Corinna and Daniel need to pull together all the strings to find the connections between their wandering Scottish veteran, his kidnapped dog, a student dramatic society that's moved into Corinna's building, burglaries, and the threatening notes that begin to mysteriously appear in her apartment. Between her forays into danger, there is still time in Corinna's life for tender encounters while the delicious aromas of newly baked breads, muffins and treats waft out of her bakery, Earthly Delights. Praise for Corinna Chapman: 'Greenwood is a modern master of the gracious detective story. We happily slip into the well-ordered ebb and flow of life around Earthly Delights and the other inhabitants of the Insula building, but she meticulously blends a hint of unease into the mix... Greenwood knows a proper feast includes the savoury and the sweet. Hers is a unique voice in crime fiction.' - The Age

Mehso-so

Finished this one today. It wasn‘t too bad but it felt like there were too many plot-lines and it all seemed a bit messy.

My #WeeklyForecast for this week:

I‘m halfway through both The Spotted Dog and Braised Pork, so should be able to finish them both fairly swiftly; and hopefully I can make a start on both Pine and American Gods (which has been on the forecast for some 4 weeks now!) Strange Flowers is an advance 20-page sample of Donal Ryan‘s novel due out in August.

Going to use this for my #Booked2019 #Winter #HappyPlace tag!!! Kerry Greenwood is one of my go to authors when I‘m homesick or stressed so reading this on the flight to Singapore with a terrified cat in a bag was definitely a needed escape! The latest in the Corona Chapman series, the language is amazing, plot and pacing tight and characters alive and memorable. Highly recommended, as is the rest of the series!

squirrelbrain Hope puss has recovered! ❤️ 5y
GlassAsDiamonds @squirrelbrain they‘re both still in government quarantine but they settled down once they were safely in the facility, knew we knew they were there and had a nap & some food. We spring them next week!! 😊😊😊 5y

Finally got out today and found these 2 books I‘m wanting to read. I‘ve waited so long for another Corinna book from Kerry Greenwood. I like this series better than the Phryne Fisher series.
Also can‘t wait to read the other book. I love watching her on TV. @MrsMalaprop

LeeRHarry I 💕 Leigh Sales - went to her book launch last week 😊 I‘m waiting for a new Phryne! 6y
MrsMalaprop Ooh, what a thrilling little haul. Be interested to hear what you think of Leigh‘s book. 6y
Jeg @MrsMalaprop I‘ve just started it but might have to stop as I‘m not in the right frame of mind right now to be thinking of the unexpected! 🙃 . It‘s very good. 6y
