Bring Them Home | D. S. Butler

A perfect village. A perfect crime. When two young girls disappear from their primary school, the village of Heighington is put on high alert--and not for the first time. Called in to investigate, Detective Karen Hart is sure that parallels with a previous disappearance are anything but coincidental. DS Hart is still reeling from a case she tried and failed to solve eighteen months ago, when a young woman vanished without a trace. She's no nearer to the truth of what happened to Amy Fisher, but with two children missing now too, the stakes have never been higher. As she looks to the past for clues, she must confront her own haunting loss, a nightmare she is determined to spare other families. Hart soon realises that nothing in this close-knit Lincolnshire community is what it seems. Pursuing the investigation with personal vengeance, she finds herself in conflict with her scrupulous new boss, but playing by the rules will have to wait. Because while there's no shortage of suspects, the missing girls are running out of time...

Mehso-so

A weekend at the coast to reset has been lovely. Read this looking for a new series. Overall enjoyed a the setting in Lincoln but found the main character a little annoying. The case itself was interesting enough. Saw enough I liked to try book number 2 but not a solid recommend

EadieB This is the first book in the Detective Karen Hart series. It is a police procedural and 2 young girls have gone missing from their school. Another girl 19 years old is missing too. She is helped in her quest for the truth by DC Rick Cooper and Sophie Jones. The mystery is solved after a few twists. This is an excellent book by a police detective who has lost her husband and daughter in a car accident years ago. 2y

Pickpick

I'm so glad I requested this book from NetGalley.

This book was wonderful. It catches you from the first chapter and keeps you interested throughout the whole book.

DS Karen Hart is a detective that has a weight on her shoulders due to losing not one but two people in her life. She investigates the mystery of the two missing children but a past case still bothers her. Karen is one of my new favorite detectives.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
