Yay she‘s finished 💜✌🏻
Paulo Coelho is a storyteller. He takes a story that might not seem too exciting and makes it brilliant. This is a great inside view of the “hippie” worldview of the time. Love, tragedy, and fate are intermingled in this magical journey on the “magic bus”
1970
Hippie Trails
"The Invisible Post"
"The Death Train"
"The Magic Bus"....
I was born in 1972 so I missed being a teen/adult in this awesome era but I feel very strangely connected to it. I think I have always have been a Hippie at heart....
I love the feeling this memoir gives, its like I'm right there seeing and feeling all the sights and sounds of the 70's, traveling around with Paulo in his early 20's.
Very cool so far!!
This book was like a boat ride on a sunny winter afternoon
It's easygoing and Its so absolutely beautiful. It puts forth different points of views about the world and different religions, along with a gorgeous storyline which reads perfectly.
Must read if you want to just relax and enjoy a good book on a lazy afternoon.
The end of Day 1 of #24b4monday. I managed to fit in 8:38 hours of reading and read the following. Looking forward to Day 2!

I love how Coelho makes me think deeply. I wilm always pick up what he has written. This was an book based on his travels as a "hippie" in the 1970s. I love history so i enjoyed the bits of history throughout the book. At times though, I felt that i was listening to a tired and monotone professor telling us about his amazing experiences. Come on! Lets put some passion behind those words, but i still enjoyed it. ????
Loved taking this adventure filled journey into Coelho‘s past! So many gems of wisdom scattered throughout this touching novel!
3/5⭐Full review on my blog in bio.
I have read many of Coelho‘s books, even since I was a teenage girl. And all of them share something in common – the path of finding yourself. After reading Hippie, I believe that this is the the best one that covers this subject quite perfectly.
This is a story about people that travel the world, wear funny clothes and flowers in their hairs, and believe in peace, love and freedom.

Turn back the clock and remember the free love movement of this nostalgic time. Two people meet in Amsterdam during a difficult political time and find spirituality and life ex pi experiences along the way.
In Hippie Coelho takes us back to 1969 following Woodstock where a young man dreams of being a writer and sets out on a journey to discover a more profound meaning for his life.
I really enjoyed the nostalgia of this one! While I do think he is a great writer I struggle at times with the religious references. That aside his writing is very evocative and beautiful.

Has anyone else read this? As is so often the case with #paulocoelho, the story takes a backseat to the prosaic, lyric words he uses to tell it. Awesome insight to his beautiful mind. #hippie
My neighbour‘s dog doesn‘t seem too impressed but I still am in love with this cover.
This is an interesting part travelogue collection of events that happened to the author during the 70‘s. It felt, to me, more of an autobiography than fiction as it felt so real. It did jump around a bit, like a persons thought process and once you get used to that it flows well
An interesting,absorbing read.
I would like to thank the Author/the Publishers/NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a fair and honest review
