Who‘d of thought to write a humorous book about the puritans? Well here it is! Heaven knows they need some levity.
I‘m enjoying this book and its entertaining jargon. Take this example:
“I‘m to keep you un-et by catamounts…”
In other words: “I‘m to keep the wildcats from eating you…”
I can‘t lose sight of my #litsyatoz challenge with so few letters left in the alphabet. I‘ve always managed to squeeze every last letter of the alphabet in every year I‘ve done the challenge. So I‘m moving on to the tagged book for #letterJ setting aside my next #readingafrica2022 book I‘d chosen.
I‘m making great progress with my #Litsyatoz challenge. I‘ve read books that start with A-M except for the #LetterJ. So hopefully I will get around to reading the tagged book soon.

pickThough known more for his contemporary political statire, this book is actually a work of historical fiction. Set in 1660s Colonial America, specifically New England and New Amsterdam, it is a reasonably accurate portrayal of the period, and its often outsized personalities. It is well written with a dry and often understated humor.
Saw this book at Barnes and Noble today and took a photo so I‘d remember to put it on my wishlist.
I have a new client way across town that requires me to be at meetings one-two times a week. It‘s 5 minutes from B&N so since I was running early I stopped in for a few minutes. I think I‘m going to like visiting this client! 🤗
so-soThis was ok. I liked the historical aspects and the relationship between Balty and Huncks. Buckley did well with their development and kept me going with the shorter chapters and the "what's next" factor within the story. I ventured away from my norm with this one. I'm just a sucker for WWI and WWII so I'm sure I'll be jumping right back into one of those soon ?
