I‘m loving my Kindle Paperwhite! Just finished this quite lovely historical #romantsy. Set in the Ozarks in the early 1900‘s, Althea Winsloe is a widow of two years standing. And her kith and kin fervently believe that a woman in possession of the best corn farm and best hunting dogs must be in need of a husband. Althea doesn‘t agree, her farm is doing just fine with the help of her hired hand. Trigger warning some of the secondary couples scenes

EloisaJames I adore this book! And what a trail-blazer in terms of positive portrayals of disability! I met her at a conference and said how much I loved it and she said it was a sales failure, which was so sad to me. Before its time, maybe. 6y
Dragon Thanks @EloisaJames so true a very positive portrayal of disability. So sad it was a sales failure , I heard about it on one of the live Get Booked Podcasts, I had to have it on my Kindle Paperwhite. 👍🐉 6y

I realize I have four library books and a review book I'm only halfway done with, but @JessicaTripler loaned me this and I must reads it nowses. Also, Jude Deveraux blurb? Hell yes.

Carol I like that, as far as I know, this Jess book (it's in the title, after all) has only been read by Jesses. 🤓 8y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Jessisreading ...I've been there! Why do all the library books that you've had on hold for months come up as soon as you buy something shiny and new! 8y
