#manicmonday time. This week I'm semi-prepared!

Book: The Privilege of the Sword by Ellen Kushner. No contest.
Author: K.J. Parker on the strength of his short fiction.
TV Show: Pushing Daisies
Food: I was SO READY to scream about prawns, but then I remembered pesto exists and so do pine nuts and pecan pie. How 'bout I go with a meal of prawn pappardelle with pesto and pine nuts, followed by pecan pie? And maybe some peanut butter cups, too?

LETTER P: PENNYWISE and PET CEMETERY are the first movies that brought me into Stephen King's world when I was a kid. After these I started devouring his books and all scary movies at a very young (and probably inappropriate) age! ☠️👻🧒🤡

julesG Pssshaw! If you can handle it, you're not too young. 6y
MinDea 😆😆😆 @JulesG That is true. Each kid is different and I handled scary stuff pretty well when I was younger but my sister did not! 6y
GarthRanzz I agree with @julesG I was raised on Grindhouse horror in the 70‘s. My mom would take me to double features at the drive-in (Invasion of the Blood Farmers / The Devil‘s Rain Stand out) and I read everything I could get my hands on. And I think I came out more well adjusted than my younger brother who had nightmares (I‘ve never had one, even as a child) and who hated horror. We‘re made of sturdier stuff! 😊 6y

#riotgrams Day 2: Current Read

This weekend is Operation: Bye Bye Diapers! At least for our oldest anyway. We've got treats, prizes, stickers, gold stars, new undies and fun potty themed books like P is for Potty!

As for me, I am still working through Eleanor Oliphant. Hoping to finish it after bedtime either tonight or tomorrow.
