How do you have your bookshelves organized? Alphabetical? Color? Book height? I have 3 bookshelves with no real organized scheme. #help #needtogetorganized #libraryocd #grammaslibrary

wanderinglynn Mine are done mostly by genre, except the TBR shelf. 5y
Djspens @wanderinglynn I read a lot of the same genre, I'm not sure that will work 😂 i guess I could do Historical fiction, thrillers, sappy, creepy and a few true stories.. 🤷‍♀️ 5y
Jee_HookedOnBookz Mine is called organized chaos 😅 5y

Daisey I separate nonfiction by topic and fiction are mostly organized by author. However, bookshelf height also limits and determines where some books will fit. 5y
Kerrioke My shelves have no organization 😅 We‘re planning a move soon, though, so maybe I‘ll fix that when we get to the new place. 5y
SW-T Nonfiction by topic. Fiction by genre and by author with each genre. 5y
rretzler I separate books by genre, then by author. If a series, I put in series order, otherwise it‘s usually just random. Nonfiction is mainly random except for those categories which have many books and then I sort by topic. 5y

Oh, hello there, Me!

I‘m a sucker for organization books, and nearly always believe exactly what they say. Recently though, I‘ve been able to see what these books are really saying, and realizing that most of them won‘t work for me. This book, however, was v v helpful! Once you find out what type you are, each room has tips just for you. They actually make sense, and nothing here is crazy expensive. And it‘s low-pressure! Highly recommend!!!

LauraBrook Also, there‘s a section on living with different types, which, while it doesn‘t apply to me since I live alone, was still helpful and interesting to read. And there are checklists with each chapter, a nice extra reminder of the highlights. 6y
merelybookish This seems like a positive move -- to recognize not all systems work for all people. I'm curious to see what 'type' I am. 6y
SusanInTiburon Living with “different types” is such a challenge. Leaning more about them would be a help! 6y

AnneCecilie Without knowing what the other types are, this really sounded like me 6y
LauraBrook @merelybookish You can take the test on their website (I think it‘s pixiesdidit.com), and I didn‘t know this when I read the book, but it‘s based on Myers-Briggs types. And I totally got my type (INFJ)! 6y
LauraBrook @SusanInTiburon I‘m buying a copy for myself - I suspect Mom and I will live together sooner than later, and she‘s always on me about piles. I‘m hoping we can learn more about each other and avoid some of the tiffs. 6y
LauraBrook @AnneCecilie Weird, right? I didn‘t even think about some of those things being unique, but it‘s totally me. Nice to meet another “pile”-er! 😊 6y
RidgewayGirl Hello, from one INFJ to another! 6y
