Daisey I separate nonfiction by topic and fiction are mostly organized by author. However, bookshelf height also limits and determines where some books will fit. 5y

SW-T Nonfiction by topic. Fiction by genre and by author with each genre. 5y
rretzler I separate books by genre, then by author. If a series, I put in series order, otherwise it‘s usually just random. Nonfiction is mainly random except for those categories which have many books and then I sort by topic. 5y
