Neruda's words remind me just how visceral the effect of poetry can be to me, leaving me out of breath. He is the wind to my leaf.

My date during my last night in Shanghai. Bibliophiles never go to bed alone. Neruda shall keep me company.
Clearly, ze husband knows how to spoil his girls during Valentine's (and International Book Giving Day). Daughter received her TWD comics while I got poetry and fantasy. Plus we got flowers and sweets! ;)
The quote, the handwritten pages. The first poem takes my breath away. I have loved his poetry for as long as I've been learning Spanish, which seems like most of my life. I love to add in small poems wherever I can in my classes, especially his Odes to Ordinary Things, but I get the impression no one quite likes him as much as I do. My Spouse tells me this is the fifth book of Neruda we've bought but I surely don't have enough Neruda yet???!!!
Sunday morning bookstore shopping😍
Found this beautiful book in my mail this morning. Can't wait to start.
I've just received this and have started the slow beautiful journey through the poems. There is nothing quite like a book of poetry from an author of Neruda's talent.
