Die 22-jhrige Kunststudentin Cora kommt eines Nachmittags frher nach Hause. Und ertappt ihre jngere Schwester mit deren Nachhilfelehrer Gi. Der beltter schafft es gerade noch, hastig sein Hemd zuzuknpfen, bevor ihn Cora in hohem Bogen vor die Tr setzt. Wie zufllig scheinen sich Coras und Gis Wege danach immer wieder zu kreuzen. Die beiden kommen sich nher, doch Cora ist sich unsicher, ob Gi wirklich etwas fr sie empfindet. Zu allem Unglck lassen ihr die Sticheleien ihrer Mutter keine Ruhe. Denn diese behauptet felsenfest: Mit deinen altbackenen Klamotten schlgst du noch jeden Mann in die Flucht! Doch Cora fhlt sich wohl in hochgeschlossener Bluse, Schlabberpulli und Tllrock. Kann sie trotz Vintage-Look Gis Herz fr sich gewinnen?

(Note: Book not in database, so tagged book by same author.) This was such a beautiful book - not just from the outside (it‘s stunning, eh?) but also the story itself. Set in 1890 London it is about Animant Crumb, an upper-class, book loving girl who - instead of simply being married off - gets the chance to work in a library for a month, because her uncle needs soemone to assist the moody librarian, who has scared off all previous employees.👇🏻

scripturient There are all kinds of complications, mainly regarding the role of women in Victorian society, and some Jane Austeny kind of love related twists and turns. It‘s a book that simply makes you feel all warm and fuzzy. 😊 6y

Hiding behind my book while the hubby is renovating the kid‘s room - he adamantly declared he wants to do it all alone and is now cussing and cursing like a pirate. I‘m not even allowed to ask what‘s going wrong. 🙄🙈 (The book I‘m reading isn‘t in the database so I tagged one by the same author.)
