This book was amazing loved how it put romance, politics, and friendship all in this big story of a girl who lost her mother.

An engaging YA novel about a young girl swept into the midst of a political campaign whilst dealing with newly found family, friendship and relationships. I enjoyed the balance of family and politics in this and felt that unlike many YA novels the relationship aspect was natural and not overbearing. No idea how I came to buy this (I sense a 99p kindle special) but glad I read it!

Joanne1 Sounds like my kind of YA novel. 6y

I liked it but I didn‘t love it. At times it felt like the book was fighting between focusing on family, romance and politics. The little sister was also a little bit of a psychopath but that was never again addressed. The romance was rarely addressed and the book seemed to lack in a lot. Overall it was a nice feel good book despite the lack of focus.

This was a really great book that talks some politics, romance, and the mainly family. 💕 It is a book that could change many things. Great read

Normally I don't enjoy books that talk politics, but this one did it fairly well. I loved the characters and one that I thought I would dislike became my favorite. I liked that the focus was more on family and that the romance didn't overshadow everything else.

I actually really enjoyed this book. It surprised me. The character development was really well done. I do think that this is an important book to read, especially in our current political environment, but I can see it causing some controversy as well. As a whole, well done!

I had no Idea what this book was about but I picked it up in the right time, America election 2016. I was surprise but totally enjoyed it. Love the blend of subjects and I learned a little bit more about republicans and democrats. A great easy fun read and for once I enjoyed the fact that the love story didn't over shadowed the political stuff. 4/5 stars. ⭐️

Thorne‘s writing feels very authentic, honest and above all, it narrates an incredible, surprising journey. Kate felt so real to me, I could have imagined meeting her in real life. The novel had great pacing; an interesting storyline; and an awesome, evolving protagonist. I highly recommend this book to fans of contemporary YA. This is a must-read.

5/5 🌟

After Kate's mom dies, she finds out for the first time that her father is one of the politicians running for US President.

Loved! Kate fumbling thru getting to know her new family while her father is out campaigning + reconciling his platform on issues with her own opinions = fantastic. There is a coming-of-age feel to that end + I loved it. Interesting father-daughter dynamic. Romance takes a back seat.
